Representatives of the Hamilton Hill Clan collect the last Bon Scott Project Vinyl Banner from the Fremantle Arts Centre this week!

One of the excellent things about this project has been the greatly expanded range of folks who have become familiar with the Arts Centre through Bon. The Hamilton Hill Clan have been great supporters of the Bon Scott Project. I look forward seeing pictures of their pilgrimage, en masse, to see AC/DC perform in concert early next year – if the rumoured tour goes ahead…

The Billy Weston Slideshow

On Saturday night we returned to Billy Weston’s Pool Hall, to put on a slideshow for the fans.

Bec and I first went there a month or so ago to photograph Ava and her buddies: Rocket, Dope, Grubb, George, Mick the Noise, Thommo, Cabby and Melanie. The above is one of the super shots Bec took that day.

Thommo (aka Danny, the fella on the left of the above shot) who helps to run the Pool Hall, invited us to “come back any time”. So we decided to gather together a bunch of shots we’ve taken of Bon Scott Fans and beam ’em up on the big screen.

And so it came to pass. The big day had arrived. I was due to meet Mish around 4pm at the Claremont Showgrounds. After a rowdy bus and train journey with the Hamilton Hill Clan, I joined a conga line of black T shirts at the back of a seemingly endless queue, suffering under the baking sun. Somewhere up the line came the plaintive cry of a female voice: “Why do we wear dark clothing in this heat?”
