hi all back in black was originally written by bon and the young bros most of the material was bon’s after his death and when they replaced him with Brian they released back in black and toured.
I am a die heart Bon Scott fan and have been since i was 11 when i met the ledgend. I celebrate his birthday and the day he died every year and have made many friends who do the same. Bon deserves respect as he was and always will be a ledgend of rock

That’s right, as an AC/DC fan I’ve heard hundreds of versions of how Bon Scott met AC/DC but none of them were true. I finally got the true story, right out of Bon’s mouth. Thanks for sharing!

hi spuds;

well matey many actually believe that every song ac/dc did after bon joined he had a hand in… we believe they used his “book of rock” lyrics book for direction and topics to include in the albums after bon died..(not just back in black)

and that even with his book.. they could not replicate the final cut of songs that bon had spent his life practicing on..

believe it not..

I’ve been reading and listening to everybody thinking that they have REAL Bon Scott Autographs. From what I’ve seen so far, no one an Authentic Bon Autograph. I’m not sure, but I think most people don’t know what Bon’s Autograph looks like. I’ve been Collecting for about 30 years and have only acquired 2 Original Bon Autographs. The Bon Autograph on the above Album is DEFINITELY FAKE!!! Most anything claiming to have been Signed by Mark Evans is more than likely FAKE!! And the Signed Guitar with the members listing their Favorite Songs and including Bon’s Autograph, is DEFINITELY FAKE and I don’t have to see it, to know that. It sounds like something that came from AutographsAmerica–The biggest Rip-Off on the internet. If someone can tell me how to Post a Picture on here, I can alleviate everyone’s doubt by showing you what Bon’s Signature really looks like. You can also find Authentic Bon Scott Signatures from the Museum in Australia, who purchased the Love Letters from Bon’s Wife. All of them Signed by Bon. You can’t buy a Bon Scott Autograph until you know what it looks like. Good Luck.

Spuds, to be fair, what book about AC/DC can be said to be really and truly ‘trustworthy’?

The band is often described as ‘legendary’ for a reason. The stories that circulate become myths and legends. And although lots of people who were there at the time are still around, no individual holds the whole story. And each person has his/her own take on the situation, or has something at stake in their version being held as the official one.

For good or bad, that pretty much sums up history in general!

I agree with you that the “Bon wrote a significant portion of Back in Black and didn’t get credited for it” theory can be quite compelling, when you consider the quality of the material for the album, and the rapidity with which it emerged after his death.

And yet, there’s no evidence that I know of (yet). Where is that legendary notebook?!
